Each Tuesday I will deliver to you two things that are relevant to wellness.
1. Joy Ride – Have you blocked yourself from feeling joy? Allowing yourself to feel joy is actually an act of self-love, and it is up to you to ensure that you do allow it. Often, we put everyone’s needs before our own and a joyful life doesn’t make the To-Do list. Iris Murdoch a novelist said “One of the secrets of a happy life is continuous small treats” That is a concept I like and why I included Gratitude & Joy in my daily planner. Have you tried it yet? What do you think? I would love to hear your feedback and any suggested changes.
If your struggling to find joy, here is an article that might help.
2. The Gap – I know I’ve talked about making space in your schedule before – but I need reminding of this. It has been a crazy start to 2023 and I have started to use “busy” as a badge of honour again. When I heard myself say it the other day, I cringed inside. It is not how I want to be. I love this quote “The truth will set you free, but first it will make you mad” Gloria Steinem. I don’t purposely fill everyday with activity, honest I don’t, or maybe the truth is that I feel guilty if I’m not doing something. What is a good gap for me? Well even 30 minutes to have a cup of tea in silence would likely do the trick. I really enjoy looking through photos while I do that. Those family memories make me smile. How about you? What is your gap?
