  1. Change your Mindset – Turn your frown upside down is advice given to kids but it works for us as adults too.  Seeing negatives as positives can be hard work, but let’s look at it like a fun exercise.  (It does take practice) When you start to see yourself becoming negative think of it’s opposite.  In time it will become a habit and start to become easier and even intuitive.   • When seeing my counsellor, she introduced me to somatic therapy.  It was very helpful to me to break through some difficult situations I had experienced (more on that another time).  She also taught me to bring myself to the current moment in time using my senses. What seems to be our intuition/gut feeling in life is because our body has it’s own radar system, our senses.  These same senses can be used to bring us to mindfulness in a matter of moments.  While you are waiting for an appointment, or standing in a line use the time to engage your senses and observe the world around you.  What can you see, feel, hear, smell and taste.  This is a good article that explains how to use the five senses to create awareness and mindfulness in our busy day.  Give it and try and let me know what you think.
