Believe – “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” Anatole France. The hard thing for many of us is to truly believe that we can do anything we want to do. Have you ever been asked to write out what your dream life would look like? I have had several sales force managers ask me to do this over the years. The concept is that if you can visualize what your dream life would look like, you can work backwards and then figure out the steps necessary to achieve it. I attended the Women On Wings Society tea in May and received a Goals Journal that helps you identify your dream life. At the bottom of the cover, it says “Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow”. This also fits with the 1% better idea of last week. So, what does your dream life look like? The Women On Wings Society is our charity of choice at the Women in Leadership Retreat in November. Join us and help us raise money for this worthwhile cause.
Friends & Connection – Recently I was able to spend time with friends I have had since high school and given that we have known each other for 45 years, it is interesting to observe the changes in us as individuals and in our relationships. Our lives have taken very different paths and there has been a lot of moving between the three of us. I have always said that I have a lot of acquaintances but very few close friends. It is still true, but that isn’t necessarily a good thing. We all need connection in our lives, and even as adults we need to make new friends especially when we move to a new community. Check out Mel Robbin’s podcast on this topic! So get out there and make some new friends.
