Each Tuesday I will deliver two things that are relevant to wellness.
Giving Tuesday – Today is “Giving Tuesday” the world’s largest generosity movement. Everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts. There are so many ways to express generosity on #GivingTuesday and every day! Give time, make someone smile, help a neighbour, or donate. #GivingTuesday was founded in 2013 in Canada by CanadaHelps.org, GIV3 and several other founding partners. #GivingTuesday has active movements in more than 80 countries, working year-round to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to create a world where giving is part of everyday life. Within just a few years #GivingTuesday has grown into a global movement with hundreds of millions of people participating in whatever ways they can. Some key results from #GivingTuesday 2022 include 58 community movements and $50 million donated online. Here is a link to ways you as an individual can get involved. As I look around the world and my community today, I am honestly struggling to keep back the tears. There is so much need and I feel so blessed. But I am choosing to focus on what I can do rather than on what I am unable to do. Please find a way to give what you can, do what you can to make a difference!
Date Day – This past Saturday my husband and I had a date day. Yes, an entire day dedicated to spending time together. We tend to fill our weekends with chores or grandkids. We picked activities we like to do together, and my husband knowing how much I had enjoyed the Zoo lights the time we went before, arranged for us to visit again. He patiently waited as I had to stop for photos, and even allowed me to take some selfies of us even though he is not a fan. Dating your partner is important for a variety of reasons, here are a few articles to check out. The Secret to Married Dating and Why and How to Date your Spouse I am lucky enough to live in Alberta, Canada. It is a beautiful province and there are so many fun things to take in and enjoy. Finding free things to take part in can take a bit of planning but there are many community events and activities that are free or inexpensive. This year we have made a point to hike in the mountains, bike some great trails and take in the wonders of the Dinosaur Valley. All short drives from us. The drive gives us time to talk, laugh, and enjoy some music together. What is your favourite date day experience? Email me your story for a chance to win a date night gift card.
