1. Holiday Plans – what brings you the most grief/stress during the holidays? I have always loved Christmas and at times have been lured into trying to create the perfect Christmas. Both sides of my family would get together when I was a child, based on a sharing schedule so that Christmas Day itself alternated each year.  This hasn’t worked out as well for us. The one year I demanded everyone be there, my husband got called out to work at the last moment because his cross shift had a death in the family.  My perfect everyone there Christmas evaporated quickly.  While I still hope for the day when all the kids/grandkids will be there together, I am learning to see things a bit differently.  The actual day is less important than the time together. Here are a few ideas to help you get through this busy time of year.

  • Think about how you want to “do” the holidays this year (exchanging gifts, entertaining, socializing, cooking etc)
  • Think about last year, what went well, what didn’t?  Pick a few changes to keep the festivities fun for you.
  • Make a schedule for shopping, sending gifts and entertaining.
  • Pace yourself and enjoy!

Do you have recipes you make every year?  I have several but the favourite is my Almond Tarts.

Email me for more recipes or to send me your favourite.

2. Creating – “Life isn’t about finding yourself.  Life is about creating yourself.” George Bernard Shaw.  Have you ever tried the “Dream Life” exercise?  It is where you write out what your dream day would look like.  Where would you be living, what time would you get up, what would you do, eat, see, experience etc.  From there you work backwards into creating your goals & objectives to create your dream life.

I think the most important part of the process is the creating.  Given my Natural Design© I love change, and therefore creating sounds way better to me than planning. 😊  Here are a few suggested ways to create the life you want.

  • Get to know yourself better, become more aware of the things, people, and places that bring you peace.
  • What lights you up?  For me it is facilitating and speaking.  I love the moment the group “gets it”, or when someone sends me a note telling me what an impact my words had on them, or how it improved their life.
  • Don’t postpone joy.  Find ways to celebrate joy daily.  It makes the journey much more rewarding!
  • Believe in you and your dream life! “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” Anatole France

I would love to hear about a day in your dream life.  Email Me.
